Currently in August {say whaaat!?}

Oh August, how I have a love and hate relationship with you. As a teacher, you come right after my two favorite months (June & July) to remind me that it's time to return to reality. And while I may be partially ready...I still need a wee bit more time!

Listening: Normally I'm a bit of a *slacker* in the summer months with my diet and exercise, which makes no sense at all since I have all the time in the world...so since routine is steadily creeping up, I found a new app called "Sworkit". It's a circuit workout that's pretty much amazing but somehow it reminds me of the horrible Missy Elliott song "work it" which is dirty and gross but is now stuck in my head on replay..."If it's worth it, let me work it...."

Loving: Our school was pretty much open the entire summer (minus 2 weeks in the middle) AND we are allowed to keep everything in its previous place, so besides a few "switcheroos" of centers and what not, my room is D-U-N folks! Don't hate me!

Thinking: I recently met someone who is very near and dear to my heart. She is going through some circumstances which will only make her a stronger woman, but are "speedbumps" in this road called life. Ultimately, God has a plan...sometimes it's just hard when we can't see His end result.

Wanting: This summer hubs and I took a trip to Grand Cayman and only got to spend one week (yes, only) on the beach. Ever since, well about a few days ago, I had this longing to return to a beach. Any beach. Near or far. Before school starts.

Needing: Our master schedule changes annually and I kinda really need it in order to plan the layout of my day. I really want to improve on teaching writing this year, so I would like to set up a plan and layout for what writer's workshop will look like...but, back to square one of needing the master schedule.

B2s must haves:
1. G2 gel pens. An absolute must. There's nothing that makes letters on paper look better.
2. Chocolate. Who's to say the candy jar in my classroom is for the kids...
3. A great planner. As in an Erin Condren teacher's planner (drooling)

Head on over to Farley's blog to see what all your other bloggy buddies are up to this month!

Happy August!

  1. Ooo..those gel pens look great! (I'm such a sucker for pens...) I haven't been in my classroom all summer, so I'm a wee bit jealous that yours is all set. Gulp. :-)

I have been eye balling those Erin Condren Planners, too.... I just haven't decided if I'm going to take the plunge!!! :)

  3. I feel like you just read my mind. We are supposed to get our master schedule today/this week and I'm hoping it will help my mind settle a bit once I finally get it. Your room looks ADORABLE and that planner looks to-die-for!
